hub and spokes

I have always been fascinated by wagon wheels: with their wide rims, strong wooden spokes, and big hubs. These wheels help me to understand the importance of a life lived from the center. When I move along the rim, I can reach one spoke after the other, but when I stay at the hub, I am in touch with all the spokes at once. To pray is to move to the center of all life and all love. The closer I come to the hub of life, the closer I come to all that receives its strength and energy from there. My tendency is to get so distracted by the diversity of the many spokes of life, that I am busy but not truly life-giving, all over the place but not focused. By directing my attention to the heart of life, I am connected with its rich variety while remaining centered. What does the hub represent? I think of it as my own heart, the heart of God, and the heart of the world. When I pray, I enter into the depth of my own heart and find there the heart of God, who speaks to me of love. And I recognize,...

listen to conscience first before the heart

Sometimes, the heart can be perverted and selfish. The conscience then is the voice of God to guide the heart instead of following the heart against the conscience.

the rationalist

A heart burdened by reason - rationalism A heart burdened by the will - voluntarism A heart burdened by feelings- sentimentality Burdened hearts are unbalanced. For the rationalist, nothing touches them.  Nothing affects them.  What interest them is intellectual analysis. But in reality , they are far from the object of analysis as they are incapable of penetrating or contemplating it. They cannot fathom the mystery of life.  They are interested more in the knowledge of object rather than the object of knowledge itself.  Overstimulated thinking hardens the heart. One can't grasp the

spiritual gluttony

We need to do the plan of life even if it's not as enjoyable compared to devotions or divine office. But we might be spiritually glutton and an act of disobedience.  We can't just do things that we find enjoyable.

hope

Reality needs hope. Real family need hope. Spes salvi: in hope, we are saved. Little sister of the 3 virtues.  Not about despairing.  When one can't forgive oneselves.  Despair is blackness. There's no hope. It is giving up.  Grief. Psychological. Spiritual. Marcel, Homo Viator, in Amoris laetitiae -   Marital fruitfulness involves helping others, for “to love anybody is to expect from him something which can neither be defined nor foreseen; it is at the same time in some way to make it possible for him to fulfil this expectation”. To not expect is sterility.  Our job is to give ppl hope.  When giving formation, always end the talk with some hope.

Is to desire God as our ultimate happiness

much of the suffering taking place in the Church is the result of tensions among those who love the Lord

The fact is that much of the suffering taking place in the Church is the result of tensions among those who love the Lord. Ever since the conflict between Paul and Peter, and Paul and Barnabas, much pain within the Church has been the result of conflict among the disciples of Jesus. To live that kind of conflict well is one of the hardest aspects of the Christian life. The only way to find our way through it is unceasing prayer. I

bear fruit in the life of others

Sometimes, working with someone else may be tough. Buy the work that you produce with your colleagues will bear much fruit in the life of others who receive this piece of work, as u offer them to God. Sometimes it seems that we have to accept the fact that different human beings fulfill different needs and that no one human being can fulfill all our needs.

Mary my mother

Be sure to also pray to Mary, the mother of God. She can really touch you in a very special way and give you the kind of inner peace and joy that has great sustaining power. Mary so well knows the suffering of a mother in life. Being with her in prayer is a true grace.

The Christ in you who calls forth the Christ in other

The Christ in you who calls forth the Christ in other" means that when a person truly accepts Jesus Christ into their life, the character and qualities of Christ begin to manifest within them, which in turn, inspires and encourages the same kind of transformation in others they interact with, essentially acting as a catalyst for spiritual growth in those around them; it highlights the idea of a shared Christian community where believers mutually uplift one another through their faith.

friendship

I love you with the strong faithful love of Jesus.  I hold you very close to my heart and the heart of God.  I enjoy your friendship every moment of my day and feel very safe in it.

Every minute offers a choice, what to think, what to say, what to do.

let yourself be loved

Have the courage to let yourself be loved by God , by others
