study

The attitude of study - esp discussing important matters - not just going by feelings, but to study  Opinion should be expressed at the right level of competence  Study people  - to know their temperament, what their triggers are etc Study your cooperators - meet them once a month at least, if they don't come for circle  - study such that our family business grows

materialism

There was a man who was interviewed on TV once. He had won the lottery. He won a huge fortune of money. He had been dreaming of winning a million dollars, and now he had won a million dollars, and he was asked by the compere, the interviewer, “What is your next step now that you've won a million dollars?” He said, “Earn another million.” Our human heart may never be satisfied with those material things. The things of this world give a very fragile and insufficient security because our lives will never be fulfilled without God. Frequently in our prayer, we can ask ourselves, “Where is my heart?” Because we know that our destination is heaven, we have to make positive and concrete acts of detachment with regard to what we own and what we use. What a wonderful example it is to give your children that sort of spirit and those values.

rosary

The crux of the rosary is Jesus.  The rosary is christocentric It's wrapped around the mysteries of Jesus , through our Lady.  The rosary if prayed well, will invariably lead us to know christ, through its mystery.  Why so many hail Mary's??  Because in the heart of each hail mary:  We are repeatedly reminded of the Fruit of her womb, Jesus.  - the centrality of the hail mary is Jesus. St alphonsus liguori says feel free to modify the rosary to suit the mystery! So that it helps in contemplating the mystery. E.g. when contemplating crucifixion, blessed is the fruit of womb Jesus who died on the cross... for annunciation, womb Jesus who was born for us... for agony in garden, Jesus who sweat blood for us.   With what confidence we can ask the prayers of she who bore Christ within her! With every passing Hail Mary we renew our meditation on the mystery, and can focus on what we can learn from the mystery. Ten has the meaning of totality and unity, m...

ambition and man of desires

Desire - to be killed based on Buddhism as it leads to suffering  Desire is meant to lead us to live passionately and to love passionately. It makes us feel alive and its a good thing!  Man of ambition. Is Jesus a man of ambition? He's a leader and he says he will be a servant.  Have our role models - Thomas Wee - guadalupe Ambition is a human impulse St paul to corinthian - only one gets a prize  - to run with a clear goal  To have discipline Mindfulness in intention  Mortification

to help others

powerful and stimulating words from St. Josemaría: “A man or a society that does not react to suffering and injustice and makes no effort to alleviate them is still distant from the love of Christ's heart. While Christians enjoy the fullest freedom in finding and applying various solutions to these problems, they should be united in having one and the same desire to serve mankind. Otherwise their Christianity will not be the word and life of Jesus; it will be a fraud, a deception of God and man

mortifications

because I want it to be clear to my children throughout the centuries that the foundation of our life is prayer and mortification. Mortification has to be looked for in small, everyday things: in work that is intense, constant and methodical. Little things that won't harm our health but will keep our love of God alight. Mortifications at meals. Heroic minutes throughout the day. Punctuality. Tidiness. Guarding our sight on the street, without doing anything odd, which isn't part of the spirit of the Work. We have to walk naturally; and when there is something harmful, or which could cause our love to grow cold, then we have to "see" without “looking." Dozens and dozens of features and opportunities to take advantage of! I want to emphasise that we have to learn to sacrifice ourselves, not in spectacular outward demonstrations, but in the humble little things of every day; by eating a little less of something we like more, and a little more of what we like less, i...

detachment and poverty

How can we practice detachment when we are in the middle of the world? For those religious, the are truly detached. They renounced the worldly.  For us?  Once we embrace poverty, we can enjoy life more. Ppl who has money doesn't know how to spend money. Life can be enjoyed in simple way.  When we put control, put moderation, we enjoy it more. E.g watching tv. We don't feel we waste time.
