providing security

kindness

Fr. Faber: “Kindness is the overflow of self on others. To be kind is to put others in one’s place. Kindness has convinced more sinners than zeal, eloquence, or learning, and these three things have never converted anybody without kindness having something to do with it. In a word, kindness makes us as gods towards one another. It is the manifestation of this feeling in apostolic men which draws sinners to them and brings them thus to their conversion.”

humility

We need to ask God the grace to see ourselves as we are.  You know what the greatest business is? To buy ourselves as what we are worth. And to sell ourselves the amount we think we are worth.  We are nothing, really nothing. Without Jesus.

think first about the others

Think first about others. That way you will pass your life on this earth, making mistakes certainly, for they are inevitable, but leaving behind you a trail of good. And when the hour of death comes, as it must inexorably, you will welcome it gladly, like Christ, because like Him we too will rise again to receive the reward of his Love

we need to ask!

We need to ask! Ask concretely! Not haphazardly, not skirting the issue, not ignoring the issue. Press the issue to Jesus, to the Father, to the Spirit.  That is why prayers dont become personal to you. You did not bring your realities to the Father.  You were masking them. Open them up to our Lord. You say you trust in the Lord. But trusting isn't passive. It requires action on your part. You say you are suffering at work. Ask God for help! Be it strength to work harder, or work smarter,  or finding a new job . Then do it! Ask your guardian angel to be with you during interviews, during work. Those who fail to view a crisis in the light of the Gospel simply perform an autopsy on a cadaver. They see the crisis, but not the hope and the light brought by the Gospel. We are troubled by crises not simply because we have forgotten how to see them as the Gospel tells us to, but because we have forgotten that the Gospel is the first to put us in crisis. If we can recover the cou...

God uses failure as well

God who often uses failure even better than success to bring about the good of souls. The crucifixion is an apparent failure. But it brought redemption.

the plan of life is the armour of god

the Lord is not in noise

“The Lord is not in noise.”104 Genuine prayer is no longer to be found in this soul. He prays in a rush, with interruptions that have not the slightest justification; all is done neglectfully, sleepily, with many delays, putting it off until the last minute, at the risk of being finally overcome by sleep.

humility

A healthy distrust of ourselves

logic of sacrifice

1. Ancient man offer up sacrifices - it is to make up for our inadequacy and sin 2. Jesus is making the perfect sacrifice of atonement Modern man has lost a sense of sin. When we do that , we lost a sense of our saviour.

love is sacrifice

If we are indifferent, we suffer nothing. If we love little, we suffer little. If we love a lot, we suffer a lot. On earth, love is sacrifice. Only when a grain of wheat dies, it will yield much fruit

is Jesus my constant reference in my outlook of the world happenings?

maintaining harmony

Harmony can be defined as the absence of unsettled offenses between the two of you. When a real harmony and oneness exist between you and your wife, the two of you will want to relax and spend time talking. Your wife will be more agreeable. She will feel emotionally and physically attracted to you. But when you have offended her, she will probably resist you and argue with you.

order

Order, in the realm of lay mentality, is mortification. Similar to the corporal fasting by the monastic life, this is our means.

not enough to know the scene

Point in the way: not enough to know the scene of Jesus. We need to live the scene.
